Thanksgiving!

This year Robin and I hosted Thanksgiving at our new apartment in Brooklyn. Thanksgiving is always one of my favorite holidays. It’s a no stress holiday, where all you need to do is show up and eat. My family — parents, sister and her boyfriend Matt — as well as our friends Mark and Nicole came over. Before this we had exactly 2 waters glasses in the house, and I think we ended up making 2 or 3 chinatown and/or Target trips to get the various accoutrements. (Only 2 water glasses, but we had wine glasses for like 20. So, while we don’t have everything, we do have priorities!)

Robin got to put her freelance flower arranging experience to good work, as you can see there. (That’s obviously the least of all she did, spending the whole morning cooking up a tasty feast!) I got to see if I get in there with a knife and get the see if the New York Times was telling the truth about butchering a turkey. (They were.)

Before:

turkey before the de-boning

And then after:

my first bird carvinggrazing

And then everyone ate. And passed out in comas after:

food coma 3Food coma 2Food coma

Thanks for coming everyone!
